five months

Today you are five months old.  You continue to be quite the joy.  You get up to eat at night but you still go right back to sleep and enjoy sleeping long hours.  Unless you're at school - they can't seem to get you down for long naps - an hour long nap there is considered something to celebrate as they're usually 30-45 minutes at a time.  You seem to enjoy school though and are well-liked by the staff.  You are also well-liked by Lena's classmates - they all love to look at you and Lena gets pretty defensive, shouting, "He's MY brother!"

You enjoy when people smile at you.  You've grown an increasing fondness for Lena - you get all giggly when you see her come around now.

You're also quite the roller when it comes to going from back to front.  You're now typically a tummy or side sleeper.  You still struggle with going from front to back and do get annoyed when you're stuck on your tummy.  But just yesterday, we finally witnessed you roll from front to back . . . twice . . . so hopefully you'll become more practiced soon.

You were sick this past week with a little croup and a cold with a yucky cough and stuffy nose.  You're still a trooper though and managed to still be pleasant.

Your weight became a little of an issue - you weren't gaining and we contemplated getting your  diagnosed "tongue tie" clipped.  But you and I have been working very hard as of late and your weight is on the up again so we will hold off on that for now.

It's hard to believe you are closing in on six months and that we're nearing the mobility and solids stage.  I wouldn't mind if time moved a little slower.

Happy five months, Ev!
