We finally arrived at twelve months! It was actually a couple weeks ago now but oh well, we were busy. Over this past month, you got to meet your new cousin Ethan. You got to celebrate your first Halloween and technically your second Thanksgiving though it felt like your first since you were only two days old last time. You also got to help me celebrate my birthday. And then of course we celebrated your birthday too! More on your party later. You had your first sick visit and your first ear infection and your first time missing a full week of school due to sickness (coupled with a two day holiday).
You are really quite the walker now. No more crawling. You still have some falls but really are quite good at walking and I'm pretty sure you'll figure out soon that you can run which will make things even more fun. You continue to understand more words and say more words. Your new favorite word is up! You like to enunciate the P in particular. You are referring to me as Mama pretty regularly. You are not as good with Dada though you can say it.
You have really fallen in love with the bath as of late. We're not sure if it's the bubbles we added or what but you get so excited when we tell you it's bath time. You cannot wait to get in and start putting your leg up the side of the tub to get in there. You also picked up on the sign for bath as you pat your chest when we tell you it's time for the bath.
You are less interested in pureed foods now. I thought it was that you no longer liked vegetables but you just wanted to be able to pick them up and chew them. You had your first refined sugars due to eating your birthday cakes. We are slowly transitioning you into eating our meals and it is going pretty well. You also started regularly drinking cow's milk as I stopped pumping as soon as you reached one. You are still nursing at morning and at night and we are going to be phasing that out soon. I planned to do it right when you turned one but I'm not quite ready to give it up as it is one of the last signs that you are my little baby. Kudos for us and me in particular for making it a full year with breastfeeding/pumping. It was a pleasure.
